An eight-member delegation of government officials and entrepreneurs from China visited TBDC on Wednesday, March 29.
The Chinese delegation travelled to Canada and toured the Toronto Business Development Centre (TBDC) in an effort to better understand business and investment opportunities here.
Michael Donahue provided an overview of the support provided by TBDC’s Business Incubation Program, Canada’s Startup Visa Program and the opportunity to invest in the Centre’s client companies.
Two keynote speakers, the co-founders of TBDC client company EduFuture (www.edufuture.ca), Scott Xie and Ming Xia, shared their plans for growth of their Canadian knowledge-based business in partnership with the University of Toronto. In addition, they highlighted the investment opportunity with KWE Tec Inc. (www.KWEchild.com), their new joint venture with two tech entrepreneurs from TBDC community.
As a result of the delegation’s visit, one of the Chinese entrepreneurs is now reconsidering to move his manufacturing and distribution operation from California to Toronto.
