Self-Employment
Income Pathway

8 Week Program
For individuals considering
working for themselves.

Program Overview

The Self-Employment Income Pathway Program is an eight-week, entrepreneurship program delivered by TBDC. The program is designed for individuals who are exploring self-employment as a potential income pathway and need structured, practical support to move from a business idea toward launching and generating income.

Unlike traditional entrepreneurship programs, the Self-Employment Income Pathway combines discovery, validation and practical implementation. Participants move through two distinct phases over eight weeks.

Throughout the program, Success Coaches, Subject Matter Experts and entrepreneurs provide practical guidance, feedback and accountability, with an emphasis on completing tangible work at each stage.

Phase 1: Discovery & Validation

Weeks 1–4 helps participants explore self-employment, test a business idea, gather feedback and develop a Lean Canvas. By the end of this phase, participants will better understand their customer, the problem they are solving, their proposed solution and key business assumptions.

Phase 2: Business Launch & Income

Weeks 5–8 moves from exploration to implementation. Participants develop and price their offer, establish business foundations, identify customers and build a sales and launch strategy. They leave with practical tools including a defined offer, pricing model, launch checklist, customer acquisition plan and a 30 day revenue plan.
